Japanese from Central American countries got deported and sent to a number of camps during World War 2 with General DeWitt overseeing the deportations. He and Roosevelt had plans to deport all Japanese from North, Central and South America and to ban all Japanese from settling into the Americas permanently. A Navajo code talker's son who served in the Korean War and met his Japanese bride while overseas told this back in 1982. His dad, the code talker, had the scoop about DeWitt and FDR. The Japanese Community in Southern California knows about this. The surviving living elders who were children at the time in the camps remember the Japanese who came from Panama and other Central and South American countries.
