The man accused of opening fire outside the White House Correspondents’ dinner faces a potential life sentence
Prosecutors have charged 31-year-old Cole Allen with three counts, including attempting to assassinate President Trump, unsealing a criminal complaint and affidavit against him.
Allen is suspected of firing shots Saturday outside the White House Correspondents’ dinner. He made his first appearance in federal court Monday in Washington, D.C., wearing bright-blue jail scrubs. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said authorities were still examining who shot a Secret Service officer wounded in the incident.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called on Congress to fund the Department of Homeland Security and urged Democrats to tone down political rhetoric.
The gunman appeared to be acting alone, and had a shotgun, handgun and knives on him, officials said. Allen was a guest at the hotel where the dinner was taking place, and in a document he outlined security breaches that he said made getting firearms into the building easier than he expected.
The Trump administration is reviewing security for major events after the shooting.

Cole Allen correctly identified donald trump as a pedophile and rapist. If an assassin had tried to kill Joe Biden because he agreed with your delusion that Joe Biden molested his daughter Ashley, you'd have justified the attempt.

ReplyDeleteFor what purpose? To determine how they can be further weakened? The goal is obviously for the security measures to be weak enough so an "assassin" can get somewhat close, yet far enough away so that donald trump is never in any actual danger. But that is exactly what happened this time. So I think the review will probably determine that nothing should be changed. Seems to me that the security protocols they are currently using are lax -- but not too lax that king donald is actually ever in any real danger. Because there will likely be at least a few more "assassination" attempts before donald trump's 2nd term ends.
