ReplyDeleteFYI, in regards to your claim that you set your blog to not track your own page views... that might be the case, but it doesn't mean your own pageviews aren't being tracked anyway. I set my own blog to not track my own pageviews, yet I can see that it still does.
Copilot: The "don't track my own pageviews" setting is more like a polite suggestion to Blogger than a secure firewall -- it's based on a flimsy cookie that can vanish with a browser reset, device change, or incognito tab. If this blogger browses his own posts from different contexts, his own views could easily be miscounted as external hits.
Unless he has server-side logs or airtight analytics filtering by IP, the "proof" is circumstantial at best. Eighty views? Could just be a moment of obsessive self-refreshing, tech gremlins, or a browser hopping session.
