Word came from C&L management Wednesday that our own John Amato had been in a car accident. The email read, "Sounds like he was sandwiched between the Lexus on the right and some other bigass car on the left -- Lexus hit him, and then he slammed on brakes and hit the guy on the left, jamming his knee in the process."
While all of the staff here expressed worry and concern, we knew within an hour that Amato was in the hospital, stable, and having X-rays on his knee.
Oh no! John's beloved old beemer is totaled! And his knee isn't doing too well!
That's when we thought about the old car. John's old BMW is over 20 years old. As one staffer put it, "That's the fear I live with. Old car from the 90s, please don't hit me. Because anything will be a total."
John will be in the hospital for a couple of days getting physical and occupational therapy. Then there will be the insurance nightmare to deal with.
I like the blue and gray car with the gray interior.
